Post-Apocalyptic Gears Painting

This is a portion of my painting “Gears of Jabberwock” which I painted for our daughter, Melody’s (Refine Arts) show, ‘Reconstructing Alice.’ This piece and its partner, which I will post next, hung behind the theater’s ticket booth. I named this piece after two of her particularly amazing dancers that performed that song. The entire show had a post-apocalyptic feel, which I carried through here.

Painting Sold

This one is sold and tomorrow will be wending its way to its new owner. You would note that I added a little rust into the mix per the client’s request. Love the added color, and now it will compliment their beautiful silk carpet. Absolutely love the rich new dimension added into the mix!

Below shows my original painting.  They request that salmon be added and I really love the difference!

Owl Painting Needs Home

Feeling owlish? A new painting on your walls will take care of that! This bad boy puts a little edge in whatever room he hangs around in, and a lot of conversation.  For sale.  (His name is Horatio.)

Owl Graffiti Stickers

Pretty sure you need owl stickers. Find them on my website, colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.  My first owl was a goofy sketch in one of my art classes that turned out to be really cute.  I was demoing (that’s a funny word to write; it looks like it should rhyme with boing.) I was DEMONSTRATING watercolor and collage.  After that I thought, ‘I could paint an owl...’ and here you have it!  If you buy ten stickers, message me to apply a discount.

Really love the colors and layers in my cartoony fellow.

Pennants Painting

Since it’s spring, it’s certainly time for celebration! I popped this painting outside so you could get a sense of scale.

You know, artists usually can’t walk or drive directly from point A to point B; many times I have found myself making a u-turn to double back and sit under some nice, flapping flags.  It’s just one of those things that makes me feel happy and hopeful! It gives me a thankfulness for freedom, blue skies, and now and then a free afternoon.  I named it ‘Breezy.’

Just thought you needed to see a picture of my lovely shoes...

More pics are on my website, tho try as I might I haven’t been able to photograph the truly bright reds and oranges.

My Palette

I’m working on a commission right now in blues and golds. The colors are so gloriously beautiful together that even my palette looks good! WhenI get a little further, I’ll be adding the complimentary colors to this, and hopefully soon showing you the painting.
