Seriously, our bodies and hair are really just more canvas to cover. So... I guess if you want to have a painting commissioned, chase down someone with crazy-colored hair. The odds will be that they can do it for you.
I’ve done quite a lot of layouts, always in a single color. This time I decided to celebrate the color wheel and just lay down those colors (sorry, purple, I owe you one.) Of note, gorgeous ribbons one of my students gave me on a cool gift, my metal embossed seahorse mounted on a box and a colorful swag I recently made which I toss over all kinds of things to brighten things up and celebrate. Oh, and my coolest ever striped purse from Target. And my cheap sunglasses. (These be no rhinestone shades.)
This adorable little fellow is coming out to meet the world tonight, barely dry. Someone hired me to paint a red panda and wanted me to include some teal, which was really easy since they’re complimentary colors. I think he is ADORABLE. When she came to see him she said, ‘He’s even cuter in person!’ That’s what they always say; it looks bigger, brighter and ‘realer’ than photos ever could. Today is National Honor Your Brushes Day. Or at least statewide. Or maybe Houston-wide. All right, all right, it’s The Johnson Household Honor Your Brushes Day! Yippee! Love these three; they’re Fleur brushes handmade in Italy. Best paint-holding brushes I have ever owned. They soak it up and hold it. My biggest one (not pictured) even has a center reservoir.
