Missed with the fingernail polish. Well, maybe not. But it's interesting I chose flute over guitar and harp so I could have long nails. Then paint took over. I guess I'll always have artist hands. And that's okay with me.

Here's a commission I painted for someone to give as a Christmas gift, so I can show it now.
This is a ship that will definitely NOT sink under that wave! The atmosphere reminds me of a Turner, and the subject perhaps Hokusai's Great Wave. Pretty much love this one.
I'll give you some closeups later of this awesome almost-abstract.
This unusual juxtaposition between tower and tree always gives me pause. They say so much with so few words. Actually, no words at all!
Last minute Christmas; I only have five of my cutie raccoon mugs left! You can find them at
colorcatstudios101.etsy.comYa know, we can always dream of summer with my geranium painting, shown here as a closeup side view to see texture and finish.
For sale at colorcatstudios101.etsy.com. Love geraniums!
Finally some studio time, in a winter palette. Teeny tiny art time is back, after a long sabbatical! I love the subtle echo of the tree in muted colors.
Weapon of choice, my trusty Pitt pen, and some lovely watercolor pigments from Brusho. Great products!
These Chinese Lanterns are aglow! Mention this post for 10% discount on entire site until Christmas. For sale at colorcatstudios101.etsy.com
On the website I've posted a lot of closeups so you can get a good look.
Red Peppers. One of the good things in life. Find yours at colorcatstudios101.etsy.com
This is a cutaway of the peppers.
I'm often struck by the beauty of the plastic gift cards I use for painting tools.
Simple beauty.
