Sold, Onion and Bee Paintings!

Here's the lovely lady that bought two of my paintings.

Here's my adorable little bee, at only 6"x9".  He's on heavy, dckled-edge rag. I used acrylics, not watercolors.

I'll post my onion next. :)

MFAH Degas Exhibition

Degas, Degas, you have so much to teach me. Your paintings show me that you were a very brave man.

Fantastic show, ending soon at the MFAH downtown. Go see it if possible!

Here are a few paintings and closeups of paintings that greatly affected me.  I'll elaborate on them later... right now my tongue ith tied until more coffee ith consumed.

Ship at Sea

Here's a detail of my recent painting that I just listed.  You can find details on my website, colorcatstudios101.etsy.com and I'll give lots of details here in my next post.

Just listed, my ever hopeful vessel. This ship will not sink! The second in my limited series of only two ocean going ship paintings, I connected it to its already purchased mate by naming it Well-Placed Hope II.

My Gamer

This photo of me holding my painting gives you a sense of scale. The dude has a definite presence!!

I painted my #gamer in all blacks on a bright gold background which shines through. The only color is in thin layers over the icons and the computer screen shining on his face. Because I laid the color in in glazes, the gold glows through, as a computer screen would do. I like!

For sale at colorcatstudios101.etsy.com. Pretty cool stuff!

Artist Hands

Missed with the fingernail polish. Well, maybe not. But it's interesting I chose flute over guitar and harp so I could have long nails. Then paint took over. I guess I'll always have artist hands. And that's okay with me.

Sold Commission of Ship

Here's a commission I painted for someone to give as a Christmas gift, so I can show it now.

This is a ship that will definitely NOT sink under that wave! The atmosphere reminds me of a Turner, and the subject perhaps Hokusai's Great Wave.  Pretty much love this one.

I'll give you some closeups later of this awesome almost-abstract.
