Art Teacher Preparations

Remember your teachers, people, because we spend August working like crazy people whilst you are laying around the pool. I’ve laid up $1,000.00 worth of supplies (you’re welcome, Jerry’s Artarama) so far in preparation for my classes.  A couple classes are full, but I still have a bit of room in my others.  Teaching in The Woodlands and in Conroe.  For formal homeschool classes in all subjects, check us out at:

 (The Woodlands)

And,

(Conroe)

And by the way, if you are looking for a FABULOUS pencil, find those big Jet Blacks at Jerry’s.  LOVE.

2017/2018 Art Students, Second Installation

I was going to publish the second half of my art students, but can’t find the pictures! ARG.

BUT... very important... this young lady.  She received the OFFICIAL Most Improved Award this year, and richly deserved it.  She went from extreme perfectionism, which is very frustrating and crippling in art, to being able to critique her work and being able to improve and rework it without throwing it away.  This girl has produced some lovely work and GROWN!

Teaching Homeschool Art Classes

It’s not Teeny Tiny Art Time, it’s Teeny Tiny Words Time! But I have so much to say! This is a teeny tiny synopsis of one of my class schedules. I’m offering seven classes for the school year. Although two of them are already filled, there’s room in the others.  These are classes during the day for homeschoolers; I teach all day Mondays and Tuesdays through the school year.

For info on schedules and supplies and probably more than you want to know about me, go to two websites:

www.hisclasses.org

www.ttcclasses.com

There is so much more I could say; we really learn a lot.  Alongside all this, we do a massive sweep of art history.

Student Winner

And this year’s Official Most-Improved Student Paint Bucket Award goes to... da da da da.... Megan Savaso!  Wow, Megan, way to go!  This award is no small thing.  Megan came in to my class timid and unsure of her work, striving for perfection (which is a really difficult and extremely frustrating, sometimes crippling problem in art).  I’ve seen her grow into an artist who can lay down paint that moves the wrong way and adjust with the flow, producing painting after beautiful painting.  I am REALLY, REALLY proud of you, Megan!
