Hands and Rembrandt

Andrew Wyeth quote on my hands.  ‘One’s art goes as far and as deep as one’s love goes.’  Very true.  Pictured here I’m holding a little terracotta pot which is a replica of the pots Rembrandt used.  We visited his five story home in Amsterdam, now a museum, which was a true delight.  I use my little pots for paint mixing and charcoal holding as I’ve never been one to buy something and let it sit to preserve it.  I think Rembrandt would have appreciated my choice.

I worked hard to get the above shot; below is a candid one I took so you could see his initial on the side, and my lovely hammer, of course.

I think my little pot gets better with each use.  Anyway, there you have it!  Have a great day!

Coasters for Small Gifts

Hard to believe, but it’s time to start thinking about tiny, special gifts for the holidays. These enchanting little coasters come in three different images, all with a nice cork back, so you can mix and match. Check out my website and get a little ahead of the game.  Our orchestra is beginning Christmas music; that means it’s coming!

Aren’t they sweet? Methinks they’ll make your coffee and tea taste even better!  Check me out at colorcatstudios101.etsy.com

Creative Hands Coasters

Here’s the second in my new series of coasters! I put my treasured Bob Ross keychain that one of my students gave me next to it for size comparison.  This is a photo of my hands holding a pot of charcoal. The pot is a reproduction of the ones Rembrandt used, which we purchased in his home/museum in Amsterdam.  These coasters are now available in my shop for $8.00 each.  Think about them for gifts as well as for yourself.
