Conroe Mistletoe Market!

I decided to make a ton of fluorescent coasters that glow like fire under black light, as in the first photo, plus a bunch of other coasters that are just downright gorgeous like the one in the last photo.  They all have a nice resin finish which makes them impermeable and a cork back to save your furniture in case your kids haven’t ruined it already.
And another black light coaster:

You will find me selling these SATURDAY at the Mistletoe Market in Conroe for twenty bucks a pop.  Come on out; we’ll be there all day!
You can see the reflective shine of the sky.  The resin is super glossy.  That’s one reason why I love it. :)

I’ll have other work there as well.  If you want anything in particular, you can order it off my website so no one else gets it and I can bring it to the show.  Www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.

Coasters for Sale

These are SO BRIGHT!  I’m making coasters for an upcoming Christmas show that positively glow under black light.  Pretty much loving these.  I’m not planning on posting them on my website as I think they’ll pretty much all sell at the Mistletoe Market in December.  If you’re positively in love with any let me know and I’ll set them aside for you.  Are there any that are your runaway favorites?

I like this one... it looks a little froggy to me.

This one looks like you could literally reach into it.

Maybe my favorite with all those lovely colors...

Really cool in a butterfly wing kind of way.

Well, what can I say about these awesome colors?  LOVE!

This one looks like a gentle flowing waterfall to me.

Anyway, if there’s anything you love, let me know at colorcatstudios@gmail.com and I’ll set it aside for you.  My plan is to give them all a glossy resin top. :) ❤️

Art Coasters for Christmas

I decided that I’d make florescent coasters that glow under black light to sell at the Mistletoe Market at the Conroe Convention Center December 7 (mark your calendars, people!). It turned out that this paint is EXTREMELY difficult to handle but I’m slowly getting the hang of it.  I decided to go with the paint’s strengths and have been working on marbling like they did in Florence on their papers.  I started slow but am really loving the way they’re turning out now.  Here’s one. 🙂

If you are absolutely in love with anything I post let me know!  They’re $15.00 each and I could never duplicate one - each is its own original work of art. 🙂

Florescent Coasters for Gifts

I’m excited about this sneak peek into my Christmas season wares - fluorescent coasters for gift giving!  This is a little smattering of what’s to come, reminiscent of butterfly wings, dragons and old Florentine marbled papers.  Hit these babies with a black light and they come alive!

Absolutely loving these.  The one below reminds me of a bird’s feathers.

This next one looks to me like dragons or spiny fish.  In person the blues and greens recede into the background and the reds and pinks come forward, giving it a three-dimensional effect that is mind boggling.  I tried to take a video of it but that didn’t show it either.  I guess you’ll just have to buy it so you can see it in person.

This one looks pretty cool as well.  The yellows float a surreal layer on top of everything, and I adore the lacey black lines.

Ooohhhhh.... this next one... here you are with your Florentine marbled papers!

This one looks like an x-ray, doesn’t it? :)

And this... well, let’s just close our eyes and go back to the 70s...

If you’re interested in any of these, I haven’t listed them on my website yet as I’m preparing for a couple shows.  Email me at colorcatstudios@gmail.com if you want one; they’re $15.00 each.

Second Group of Art Coasters for Sale

I have been seriously busy adding work to my website every day getting ready for fall markets and shows.  That being said, if you like any of these, grab them now!

Gorgeous, huh?  I’m curious which one you like best.  Details to make them yours are on my website, www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.

Now that I have them photographed, I’m going to flood them with super-glossy protective resin and give them nice cork backs. 🙂. If you want them, now is the time because I am not going to be making more!

I like this one... it looks octopussy.

As far as the black and gold coasters, I made only eight and just posted the other four in my previous post.  When I asked if people wanted to see that they were recycled I got a resounding yes, so you my find little chipped pieces or a bit of grout I left on one.  Picture me digging through piles of discarded builders’ junk, scraping and scrubbing and you’ll get the picture.  Anyway, once these are gone, they are GONE!

Oh my goodness, I love these!

You would notice this following one has a little chip out of its corner.  Picture me digging through bins of discarded builders’ junk, chipping grout off tiles, scrubbing them and you’ll get the idea.  I asked if people wanted to be reminded that these are recycled and got a resounding ‘YES!’  So, I used some with tiny chips, left a little grout, and we will celebrate recycling and helping this ol’ world.  That being said, I think these little stunners don’t lose anything but actually gain personality with these little blemishes.

Whew!  Pretty all over the place!
If you want them, now is the time because I am not going to be making more! As far as the black and gold coasters, I made only eight and will post the other four soon.

Paint Pouring Art

Getting ready for fall shows and Christmas!  These three photos show what different lighting does to a piece of art.  Getting the true colors is always a challenge.  But oh, man, I am loving this one so much no matter how it photographs!

Watch my website, www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com for all manner of awesome, original gifts; there’s all kinds of wonder there and I will soon be adding every day!

Isn’t this just so cool?  I’m making coasters, of which this is one, 6x6” squares for hanging, 10x10” squares for hanging y mas!

If I had to guess, its true colors lay somewhere between door #1 and door #2.  #3 is leaning a little toward the blue side.

Paint Pouring Coasters

Here I made a set of matching coasters and oh, do I love them!

Because I’m recycling tiles, I decided to leave some of the grout from their previous life on them to give a nod to their past, acknowledging that we need to recycle.  I’m curious what you think of this or would you rather have a perfect edge?  I think of the Amish and how they purposefully put one piece of a quilt in upside down or just ‘wrong.’ Their aim was to point out that the only One who could do anything perfectly is God.

I really like that one.  Here they are all together; notice the rough edges.  I rather like it.

The color combination is downright carnival-cheery if you ask me.  Hey!  Carnival!  Let it be known these are my carnival coasters!
Honestly, are they too pretty for coasters?  Maybe I should just put hangars on the back.  Doesn’t everyone need tiny four inch art hanging in tiny corners?

Anyway, they’ll be up on my site soon for sale if you don’t grab them first! Do you like the color combo?

Paint Pour Coasters in the Works

I’ve been working on paint pouring, recycling old tiles to make coasters. I’m curious which one you like the best.

Please vote for numbers 1, 2, 3 or 4.  This helps me decide on future works - thanks! I can get lost in the swirls and patterns - this girl needs a little help.  I’ll be popping them onto my website in a month when I get them sealed, just in time for super cool Christmas gifts. :)

I’ve got a closeup of each one so you can get a good look at the swirls and colors...

I really like it that they’re on tiles that I’ve recycled.  We’ve gotta help this world!

Oh man, I love the following one.  It reminds me of sand and sea.

This last one is so cool! The colors and patterns are endless and just SUCK ME IN. :)

ANYWAY, check out my website colorcatstudios101.etsy.com for all kinds of goodies, and look for these in about a month.  :) 👀

Art for Sale!

Have you SEEN my coasters? If not you might want to take a little look; they’re pretty awesome.  Just what a person needs whilst drinking a cuppa something.  Or not drinking a cuppa something. Also have some other pretty cool designs that I KNOW you’d like!

My raccoon painting is sold.  It was the most adorable 20” square painting EVER with micaceous earth ground into the blacks and an incredible, iridescent silver.  LOVE! But, I have magnets and coasters available!

The hands are mine.  I was working with charcoal one day and had our daughter shoot for me.  I knew we had something special with the reflections on my little charcoal pot.

The following shows their reflective nature, and their handy dandy cork back.  The chrysanthemum carving is a woodblock I carved. ❤️

And of course, everything’s better with Bob Ross.

You can find my coasters and more than you can imagine at ,colorcatstudios101.etsy.com

AND..... Happy new year!!
