Pippy’s Adventures Painting

Pippy’s checking out the work.  I don’t think he’s impressed. 😆 He’s more concerned with squirrels, birds, lizards and voles.
This one’s called ‘Oh, Pippy!’  For sale.  If you love cats I have an entire series called ‘Pippy’s Adventures.’ You can see the whole series and a bunch of videos if you check me out on Instagram as Color_Cat_Cindy or go to my website,

An Artist’s Palette

What is this, you ask?  Why, thank you for asking!  It’s our... dum de da bum.... Palette of the Day!  (so exciting).  This palette represents something I don’t get much of a chance to do - artist’s play. Mixing colors, adding white, lowering the colors with black, etc.  This kind of ‘play’ is actually really key to an artist’s understanding and use of color.  Second pic is my results.  Work like this, which I find relaxing and rejuvenating, is super important to my ‘serious’ work.

Relaxing Paint Pour

I’m really happy with this piece and love the way the cells formed (a pouring artist’s goal). The cool colors are so calming they remind me of water and that little pop of hot red gels the entire work.  I love it!

You can see where I signed it on and notice that all sides are a continuation of the front.  Just one of those little extras I think this is important to the whole and enhances the entire painting. Also, the frame is two inches deep; one of my paintings has some real heft.  Another indicator of quality.

And... our son...

Another closeup...

These babies are made not only for you but for your great grandchildren!  Find this and similar works at www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com

This last shot is the entire piece.  Pretty much loving it.

Finished Cat Commission Painting

Just delivered these two buddies.  It is SO satisfying to finish a painting.  Really love these babies and I understand they’re the best of friends.  If you look closely you can see that my final varnish echos both the background and the cats’ fur, AND I signed it with a thumbprint into that glossy final coat!  It is so true that artists put a part of themselves into their work, in ever so many ways.
Oh we love to make faces...

Oh my goodness, they are so beautiful!!! My clients were extremely happy!
Handsome fellow. :)

You can find more like this at www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.  Lots of Christmas gifts too!

SOLD - ‘Watermark’ Painting

SOLD!!!  This beauty, named ‘Watermark’ because it reminds me of water and rocks, is going to someone who collects rocks!  I think it will be a pretty perfect enhancement of their rock collection.  Maybe I sold it because I have a handsome male model, huh?  You can find more art like this at my website, shown below..  Sometimes my clients come to me asking for a painting I’ve sold and want one just like it.  Sorry it doesn’t work that way; once it’s gone, it’s gone.  This is original art in all its quirkiness and I couldn’t reproduce one if I tried.  So... if you like it, let me know, because it’s not going to come again!

www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com is my website.

Conroe Mistletoe Market!

I decided to make a ton of fluorescent coasters that glow like fire under black light, as in the first photo, plus a bunch of other coasters that are just downright gorgeous like the one in the last photo.  They all have a nice resin finish which makes them impermeable and a cork back to save your furniture in case your kids haven’t ruined it already.
And another black light coaster:

You will find me selling these SATURDAY at the Mistletoe Market in Conroe for twenty bucks a pop.  Come on out; we’ll be there all day!
You can see the reflective shine of the sky.  The resin is super glossy.  That’s one reason why I love it. :)

I’ll have other work there as well.  If you want anything in particular, you can order it off my website so no one else gets it and I can bring it to the show.  Www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.

KITTY Cat for Sale

Oh man, I love this one!  I named this one ‘The Watcher.’  I kept my brushstrokes loose to give you the feel of a really soft, pettable cat, and also lightened up on the acrylics with many layers of glaze to keep him looking FLUFFY.  12”x24” it’s for sale on my website, www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.   You can find lots of other photos of this as well.

Steel Blue Series

This piece.  I love it.  Entitled ‘Stone Flow II,’ it’s one in a series of four paintings.  If you look at my photo of all four pieces you can see this one and the biggest one, ‘Stone Flow,’ actually do flow together.  They can be purchased together or separately on my website, www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.  Mainly steel blue, neutrals and golds, it’s a piece that will look fabulous in so many interiors.  Would you give it as a gift or hang it in your own home? Stone Flow, at 24”x30” is $500.00.  Stone Flow II, at 20”x30” is $450.00

All four paintings are painted on heavy, gallery-wrapped canvas and ready to hang.

Fluid Art Painting

I just listed this painting which I named ‘Chain of Events’ for the awesome copper chain that runs through it.  For sale, toes not included, but they DO help you to gauge the size.  You can find this and all sorts of lovely paintings and artistic merchandise at my website, www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.  It’s gift-giving season; there’s something for everyone here!

This beauty is a paint pour in steel blue, black, white and copper that will look fabulous in so many settings!  I ADORE the copper chain that runs through it.  It’s one of a four-part series of paintings - the second photo shows all four of them together WITH a banana.  Disclaimer - the banana is not for sale, go get your own.  It does help you to understand the size, though! 🙂 This piece is 16x20, the smallest painting of the four.  I painted it on gallery-wrapped (really thick and strong) canvas and it’s 1 1/2” deep and ready to hang. $350.00.  Perfect for, well, that perfect gift!!
Banana!

Coasters for Sale

These are SO BRIGHT!  I’m making coasters for an upcoming Christmas show that positively glow under black light.  Pretty much loving these.  I’m not planning on posting them on my website as I think they’ll pretty much all sell at the Mistletoe Market in December.  If you’re positively in love with any let me know and I’ll set them aside for you.  Are there any that are your runaway favorites?

I like this one... it looks a little froggy to me.

This one looks like you could literally reach into it.

Maybe my favorite with all those lovely colors...

Really cool in a butterfly wing kind of way.

Well, what can I say about these awesome colors?  LOVE!

This one looks like a gentle flowing waterfall to me.

Anyway, if there’s anything you love, let me know at colorcatstudios@gmail.com and I’ll set it aside for you.  My plan is to give them all a glossy resin top. :) ❤️

Florescent Coasters for Gifts

I’m excited about this sneak peek into my Christmas season wares - fluorescent coasters for gift giving!  This is a little smattering of what’s to come, reminiscent of butterfly wings, dragons and old Florentine marbled papers.  Hit these babies with a black light and they come alive!

Absolutely loving these.  The one below reminds me of a bird’s feathers.

This next one looks to me like dragons or spiny fish.  In person the blues and greens recede into the background and the reds and pinks come forward, giving it a three-dimensional effect that is mind boggling.  I tried to take a video of it but that didn’t show it either.  I guess you’ll just have to buy it so you can see it in person.

This one looks pretty cool as well.  The yellows float a surreal layer on top of everything, and I adore the lacey black lines.

Ooohhhhh.... this next one... here you are with your Florentine marbled papers!

This one looks like an x-ray, doesn’t it? :)

And this... well, let’s just close our eyes and go back to the 70s...

If you’re interested in any of these, I haven’t listed them on my website yet as I’m preparing for a couple shows.  Email me at colorcatstudios@gmail.com if you want one; they’re $15.00 each.

New Paint Pour Series

I am SOOOO happy with this new series of four paintings!  Yes, banana.  That’s for size.  What I am thrilled about is that the two paintings in the center actually flow together as if they’re one; THAT was total serendipity!  Did not plan that at all and didn’t even know until today whilst laying down varnish layer number three.  (Did you know... a diptych is two pieces painted together to make one complete painting?). I’m hoping someone wants to purchase and hang them together this way.  (They’re a little reflective; that’s because the varnish is still wet.)

I normally keep the price on my website, but just in case you’re curious, the crazy first one that makes me laugh (it’s the rebellious stepchild of the four) is $450.00; the next is $600.00, its friend is $500.00 and the one on the far right is $350.00 (priced by size). The three on the right are dreamy and remind me of land and water and beautiful agates and rocks.  The first one looks to me like a crazy baby bird fluffing his wings so he can take on the world and DOMINATE!  Loving the colors.

If you are interested, let me know here or by email (colorcatstudios@gmail.com).  I don’t have them on my website (except for the bird) because I have an upcoming show which I’m preparing for.  Honestly, I don’t think it’s worth the trouble because I think they’re going to sell at the show.

And if you REALLY want to know, I’m not altogether sure I want to sell the bird.  I find him charming and funny and crazy and it makes me laugh every time I see him.  You could probably buy him today, but I’d rather you bought the other three.  I might have to pull him off my website and keep him as my personal friend and assistant.

Self Portrait (of sorts!)

Okay, a candid photo.  We went to the Dove Awards so I put my hair up.  When we got back to the hotel, my hair didn’t want to go DOWN again.  Hair DOES have a mind and will of its own, that’s for sure!
Truth.

Gifts in the Mail

Wouldn’t YOU like to get lovely packages in the mail filled with cool original art?  It’s possible!  Easy shopping and fun surprises as well.  You never know what kind of thank you gift I’m going to stuff into your package.  Now’s the time to start your Christmas shopping and you can get cool stuff in the mail AND get ahead of your gift-giving plans. 🙂. Always a good thing.  Www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.

And... if you happen to enjoy postage stamps, you never know what combination you’re going to get.  As a child I avidly collected stamps, actually well into my 20s.  I learned the political geography of the entire world because it was FUN and fascinating through the collecting of stamps.  It took me until I was an adult for me to realize that I was actually just collecting pictures.  Pictures!  What a surprise and how out of character for me, haha!  Even today I still go to the post office and stand in line to get the cool stamps with which to grace your packages. :)

Dragons of the Earth Painting

This one I named ‘Dragons of the Earth.’ Oh my goodness, it’s one of my very favorites.  I wish I could do more like it but alas, that could never happen.  The reds and golds are a standout and the golds mix with the emerald greens to make them positively luminous.

I painted it on 9”x12” cradled birch.  Signed on the side and ready to hang.  Highest quality paints will not fade and will bless you with an heirloom.  And at $95.00, that is a BARGAIN!

So pretty!  You can find lots more pictures and information on my website.  You can buy it tonight at www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com or take your chances and come to Market Street Fine Art Fair September 14.

‘Loving’ Heart Painting

I named this one ‘Loving.’ Even Mr. Giraffe loves it and he KNOWS.  9x12” on cradled birch.

You can find detailed information about this awesome paint pour and more pictures on my website, www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.

www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com

Oh my goodness, the way the colors moved is just incredible!!!  And so bright and beautiful.  The golds and pearlescents really make it shine!

As you can see, I let the paint drip off all edges to make it one piece of art, and signed on the side.

You’ll find lots more pictures on my website.  Isn’t this one just so much fun?

This one will make a very special gift for that very special person.  If you like it, get it fast because I’m certain to never be able to do one like THIS again!!
