Relaxing Paint Pour

I’m really happy with this piece and love the way the cells formed (a pouring artist’s goal). The cool colors are so calming they remind me of water and that little pop of hot red gels the entire work.  I love it!

You can see where I signed it on and notice that all sides are a continuation of the front.  Just one of those little extras I think this is important to the whole and enhances the entire painting. Also, the frame is two inches deep; one of my paintings has some real heft.  Another indicator of quality.

And... our son...

Another closeup...

These babies are made not only for you but for your great grandchildren!  Find this and similar works at www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com

This last shot is the entire piece.  Pretty much loving it.

Dog Painting

After painting so many wild animals I wanted to paint a domesticated one.  Well, this slobber dog at least has a chance of being domesticated, and the crazy background symbolizes his path of destruction.  Wouldn’t you love to own an excitable pup of your own that you don’t have to clean up after?  All my acrylics are protected and all you need do is wipe them off with a damp cloth.  That’s much easier than a dog!  Find details and more pics at www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com. www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com

Here I am holding it so you can see what size it is: :)

Coasters for Sale

These are SO BRIGHT!  I’m making coasters for an upcoming Christmas show that positively glow under black light.  Pretty much loving these.  I’m not planning on posting them on my website as I think they’ll pretty much all sell at the Mistletoe Market in December.  If you’re positively in love with any let me know and I’ll set them aside for you.  Are there any that are your runaway favorites?

I like this one... it looks a little froggy to me.

This one looks like you could literally reach into it.

Maybe my favorite with all those lovely colors...

Really cool in a butterfly wing kind of way.

Well, what can I say about these awesome colors?  LOVE!

This one looks like a gentle flowing waterfall to me.

Anyway, if there’s anything you love, let me know at colorcatstudios@gmail.com and I’ll set it aside for you.  My plan is to give them all a glossy resin top. :) ❤️

Big Cat Painting

Here’s looking at you. ‘Those eyes!’  That’s what most people say when they see this big cat.  I achieved that effect by painting extremely thin layers of colors on top of a bed of gold so they really DO shine!

I’ve painted lions, tigers, bears (oh, my!) raccoons, wolves and dogs, definitely time to throw a cat into the mix.  Here are some pictures of my painting, entitled ‘Smile,’ which has a Cheshire Cat attitude and a BIG attitude at that since the painting is 24”x30”!  Painted with golds, bronzes and a deep grey paint loaded with pulverized mica, it glows in all kinds of ways (and is hard to photograph).  I’ve got several photos in different lighting so you can see what happens as a good portion of this painting is reflective.

You can find it at www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.  For sale to a good home - a pet you don’t even have to feed!  $800.00 for this beautiful painting which is heirloom quality in every way.

There you have it! One very big cat with one very big attitude, and maybe a secret or two. ;)

Dragons of the Earth Painting

This one I named ‘Dragons of the Earth.’ Oh my goodness, it’s one of my very favorites.  I wish I could do more like it but alas, that could never happen.  The reds and golds are a standout and the golds mix with the emerald greens to make them positively luminous.

I painted it on 9”x12” cradled birch.  Signed on the side and ready to hang.  Highest quality paints will not fade and will bless you with an heirloom.  And at $95.00, that is a BARGAIN!

So pretty!  You can find lots more pictures and information on my website.  You can buy it tonight at www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com or take your chances and come to Market Street Fine Art Fair September 14.

‘Loving’ Heart Painting

I named this one ‘Loving.’ Even Mr. Giraffe loves it and he KNOWS.  9x12” on cradled birch.

You can find detailed information about this awesome paint pour and more pictures on my website, www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.

www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com

Oh my goodness, the way the colors moved is just incredible!!!  And so bright and beautiful.  The golds and pearlescents really make it shine!

As you can see, I let the paint drip off all edges to make it one piece of art, and signed on the side.

You’ll find lots more pictures on my website.  Isn’t this one just so much fun?

This one will make a very special gift for that very special person.  If you like it, get it fast because I’m certain to never be able to do one like THIS again!!

Art Decision Making

Okay, so here’s the problem, and one reason why it’s so wonderful to get a perfect piece.  I adore this 8x10.  I love the colors, the way they flow and intermingle, the shapes... everything.  Except for the leaf stuck in the paint.  What would you do? I could try tweezering it off, but the chance of ruining the entire piece is about 85%.  I could just pour resin over the whole thing and call it art... hmmm?

Other things that can happen?  People mowing and blowing down the street - flying debris.  Insects, twigs, dirt... the paint literally sliding off once I get it ‘set’ and ruining the entire composition... cats and rats and elephants... SOOOO when I get one I like - I REJOICE!  Let me know what you think about my LEAF painting.  Would you buy a painting with a leaf?

Honestly, for me, it’s so beautiful I’m just not willing to risk ruining the whole thing to remove one leaf.

Paint Pouring Painting - ‘Rising’

You know, I began doing paint pouring in response to my shoulder surgery, which left me unable to mentally focus long enough to produce my ‘normal’ style of art.  But it’s become more than that.  The beauty of these works really moves me in a way that’s hard to describe.  Here’s the entire painting:

It’s also a huge challenge to get one of these to turn out and many I end up painting over.  But this one.  I call it ‘Rise,’ because for me the paint rises up like a stem of gladiola flowers.  The fact that there’s a little elephant in with the flowers I guess is just a bonus.  Do you see him?  He’s in this following picture:

Aw, goodness.  He looks like Dumbo. ❤️ Oh, the prettiness never ends with this one!

I just popped this on my website last night.  Believe it or not, these are ever so much more beautiful in person, with their deep, glossy colors.  You can find this painting and many others at www.colorcatstudios101.etsy.com.

Oh, goodness, I’m in love all over again!

Newest Painting, ‘Festival’

I decided to give you a little tour around my latest painting.  This one is a 16x20 paint pour.  I wanted to incorporate whole bunches of cheery, complimentary colors, a lot of gold and some iridescents for a downright, riotous festival.  Hmm... I should name it festival.  Festival it is!  Now, to cure, then I have to varnish and wire it.  Look for wonderful new stuff being added to my website regularly as I get ready for upcoming shows and Christmas giving. Super bad reflections in this first one; it’s mirror-shiny. :)

After the entire painting, here are some closeups:

Oh my goodness, I love the way the colors meld and how you can see through the layers.

The above one, where it looks kind of grey, it’s really blues, whites and the iridescents that make it look that way from this angle.

I’ll be putting it up as soon as I get it wired.  If you’re interested, let me know right away as I’m sure this one’s going to go fast!

SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!

Paint Pouring

Honestly, you guys, I think these things are bedazzling.  I’m working hard on Christmas gifts and will be loading them onto my website soon. I am loving this closeup.

This has been one of the most difficult summers of my life.  After shoulder surgery I really spent it all on physical therapy, shoulder care and trying to sleep.  It’s been far too much for me to do my ‘normal’ painting, but these paint flows have been really therapeutic. Since I’ve pretty much dedicated my life learning to color, all I had to do was learn the rudiments of pouring and I’m pretty happy with the results.

Oh my goodness, isn’t this gorgeous?  I ADORE the pearlescent paint mixed in!  Sooo cool!

After a dry summer of creating almost nothing it feels really good to be able to turn out something that I think is beautiful.  I hope YOU like them too!  This last one is the entire painting.

Paint Pour Coasters in the Works

I’ve been working on paint pouring, recycling old tiles to make coasters. I’m curious which one you like the best.

Please vote for numbers 1, 2, 3 or 4.  This helps me decide on future works - thanks! I can get lost in the swirls and patterns - this girl needs a little help.  I’ll be popping them onto my website in a month when I get them sealed, just in time for super cool Christmas gifts. :)

I’ve got a closeup of each one so you can get a good look at the swirls and colors...

I really like it that they’re on tiles that I’ve recycled.  We’ve gotta help this world!

Oh man, I love the following one.  It reminds me of sand and sea.

This last one is so cool! The colors and patterns are endless and just SUCK ME IN. :)

ANYWAY, check out my website colorcatstudios101.etsy.com for all kinds of goodies, and look for these in about a month.  :) 👀
